Advanced Tips Guest Management

How to avoid Airbnb guest damages to your kitchen space

Most guests who use Airbnb will take great care of the property, but accidents can still happen no matter how respectful your guests are. Allowing guests into your kitchen with a ‘little’ bit of direction on how to protect it can be the safer option.

Using the following tips, you can ensure that your kitchen is protected, and guests are enjoying it safely.

Kitchen worktops are often facing the worst of the brunt, with wooden surfaces being scorched and laminate sheets melting. It can be a total disaster. Here are a few ways to save your kitchen!

  •  Provide multiple cutting boards, trivets hot pans and coasters around your kitchen, this will make it easier for guests to find… and hopefully use.
  •  To encourage guests to ‘cut things here’, place a large wood butch block on the worktop as a great visual reminder.
  •  No one wants expensive calls to the plumber from clogged drains, adding a sink strainer can help to prevent this from happening.
  •  Make sure you let guests know how they should use the kitchen, and don’t forget to mention how they should leave it at check-out.

Guest Safety

Not only is it important to protect your kitchen but more importantly your guests. Oven Mitts and Pot Holders are necessary for protecting your guests, make sure you hang them in a visible place next to your oven for easy access whilst guests are cooking.

It is essential to have smoke alarms in your kitchen so make sure these are working, you could even have a fire blanket and/or extinguisher – just in case.

Visibility

The best way to prevent guests from damaging your Airbnb kitchen is to make sure guests know and understand the kitchen rules. Placing a friendly visible sign to guide and remind guests to correctly use the equipment, make sure these instructions are as clear as possible.
